Welcome to the OYAP/PAJO Provincial Conference web site.

Welcome, Bonjour, to the first ever two day Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP) provincial conference, Strengthening Bridges to Apprenticeship, November 18 and 19, 2008.  The South West Central OYAP Coordinators’ Association (SWCOCA) is very pleased to host this conference and bring our OYAP partners to our region.  As Co-Chairs of this Conference, we are proud to be members of this association.  This group actively collaborates together to share best practices, strengthen partnerships, and enhance OYAP opportunities to our students.  We have successfully conducted regional OYAP conferences and have actively been involved in Continuous Improvement Development Fund projects.  The conference will be held in Windsor, Ontario – the true gateway to the Province and our Floridaof Canada! 

Why attend this conference?
This conference will ignite those involved in OYAP to strengthen our apprenticeship system and delivery.  Hear first hand the vision and direction of apprenticeship from our partners:   Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities, Ministry of Education, Canadian Apprenticeship Forum, Ministry of Labour, Ontario Learning Partnership to name a few.  A broad selection of workshops are available that will feature innovative OYAP delivery, future considerations for OYAP, health and safety, and more.  Prior to the formal launch of the new OYAP Coordinators Provincial Association (OPCA), OYAP Coordinators are invited to attend a pre-conference dinner meeting the evening before followed by a complimentary welcome wine and cheese reception.  As well, time has been built into the conference for round table discussion and regional meetings to facilitate synergies to strengthen bridges to apprenticeship.
